This series of Saturday programs is arranged by the National Park Service Interpretive Staff. Admission is free but donations are welcome to help the sponsorship of these programs by the Friends of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. May 10: Family Fun Day with Rick Mikula of the Hole-in-Hand Butterfly Farm
Back again by popular demand! Bring the whole family out to enjoy this entertaining and family-friendly presentation on butterflies by educator, author and butterfly farmer Rick Mikula. Stick around after the presentation and join park rangers and volunteers for crafts and activities. Make a butterfly house to take home with you or make a special gift for Mom!
June 14 : Join Kaleidoscope Sky author and naturalist Tim Herd for an introduction to the wonders of the night sky
Based on Tim’s newest book, thrill to the rare and beautiful sights of a rainbow’s complete circle (and how to find it), spectacular and extensive (but fleeting) halo displays, tricky but true mirages, the ever-enchanting northern lights, and much more. With amazing images from around the world, learn how to locate, observe, predict, interpret, photograph, understand and enjoy our sky’s continual and most wondrous light show.

Aug. 16 : Devastation on the Delaware: Stories and Images of the Deadly Flood of 1955 with author Mary Shafer
Ms. Shafer's book was released in 2005 and is the first comprehensive history of the 1955 flood. It includes the true stories of over 100 survivors and eyewitnesses of the region's worst natural disaster. Join the author for a slide-illustrated presentation.
Sept. 20 : Tales and Trails: NJ's Places, People and Past
Join us at the Millbrook Village Church on the NJ side of the park for a look at Garden State history by educator and author Henry F. Skirbst. In addition to teaching history in NJ for 30 years, Mr. Skirbst has authored several books on NJ history and nearly 400 articles for The Star Gazette.

Oct. 18: Diverse Poconos: Natural Communities of the
Poconos and the Delaware Water Gap
Join naturalist and author John Serrao for a glimpse into the diverse natural communities that make up the Pocono Plateau and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Learn about the plants and animals that make up these communities, how they interact and where you can experience them yourself.

Nov. 15: Family Fun Day with Darryl Speicher of the Pocono Avian Research Center
Join PARC founder Darryl Speicher for a look at how our feathered friends prepare for winter. Learn bird -feeding basics and tips to make your backyard a haven for winter birds. Join park rangers and volunteers after the presentation for crafts and activities. Make a bird feeder to take home!
